Great walking around here. You don't need to pay to get into the castle to take advantage of some of the beautiful walking routes.

Lots of renovation going on, but still worth a visit to see the architecture and grounds. Good tea shop, NT shop, and you could learn how to play croquet!

Great to see how the restoration is going. go when not windy or raining to see the roof works up in the top of the scaffolding.

Lots of building work going on to repair the roof so can't see everything but still worth a look. Cream tea was nice though.

Wear solid shoes as they won't let you up into the viewing platform in sandals etc

It's worth taking a (fairly long and steep) walk down the Teign Valley to the river if you have time.
