A Medieval Sword of Oakeshott Type XV, late 14th/early 15th century
In excavated condition, with wide sharply tapering blade of hollowed flattened diamond section, the hilt comprising flat quillons tapering towards the slightly down-bent tips, later cord-bound leather-covered grip, and thick compressed wheel pommel with circular recess on each side.
